831 INC. is a Hawaii-based food company and the home of Mochiffle, our signature gluten-free mochi waffle. Today, we serve our community through 831 Cafe at the University of Hawaiʻi–West Oʻahu and Mochiffle pop-up events across Oʻahu. We are dedicated to local production for local consumption while being committed to sustainability and stewardship of our planet. Because the Earth is part of who we are; we are what we eat, drink, and breathe. As the Earth loves and supports us, we should return this love to the Earth and each other. Let’s keep the Earth beautiful!

About The Owner

Natsuko was born and raised in a sweet potato farm (Musashino Shizen Nojyo) in Saitama, Japan.

Her family has been running the farm since 1750, and she was interested in food and nature’s blessings from her childhood. 

In 1998, she worked at Nobu Tokyo in Aoyama, Japan as part of their grand opening staff. 

In 2013, she moved to Hawaii to study raw food (at Nihon Living Beauty Association in Honolulu ) and yoga (at Open Space Yoga LLC.)  

She started to think about how important it is for us to live with mother nature inspired by surfing, yoga, and the people in Hawaii.

In 2016, she opened Coffee Shop 831 in Waikiki.

After closing the Waikiki location, she continued her journey in food and created Mochiffle, a gluten-free mochi waffle inspired by her roots in Japan and life in Hawaiʻi.

Today, 831 INC. operates 831 Cafe at the University of Hawaiʻi–West Oʻahu and shares Mochiffle through pop-up events and local partnerships across Oʻahu.

Through food, she hopes to continue sharing joy, connection, and aloha with the community.
